thefamilyorchestra all started in 2011 with the Decatur based Hip Hop collective iLLmont.  Allen Thomas was one of the founding members as well as the main singer and songwriter.  Niah Lyrical filled the role of background vocalist.  iLLmont had several local hits starting with Green Slurpy and followed by Miscellaneous Info.  They hit their peak with the release of 20 East, The Waffle House Diaries, a CD full of well written songs about the lives of young black men in Atlanta, drugs, women, daily life, and how things could be better.  In early 2015, Allen Thomas made the unexpected decision to leave iLLmont and pursue a solo career.  And Niah Lyrical joined him on this journey into unexplored terrain.   2015 was the year for the two of them to find their footing both musically and on stage.  All new songs started flowing out of the two of them.  By the end of 2015, Allen and Niah renamed themselves Thefamilyorchestra, a unique male/female duo that featured songs in which Allen sang the lead, and then Niah would sing the lead, and then both would share the lead.  It was a real musical democracy.  From 2015 to 2018 the creativity was unstoppable.  Belvedere Plaza was the first solo release in the Fall of 2015, which was followed by a video for the song “Atlantic Station” which included the innovative use of a drone camera flying over the Atlanta high end shopping district.  Then came Little Earth:Lazarus (March 2016), Void Scrolls 1 (Oct. 2016) and the Void Scrolls Exodus: Songs For Charizard (Oct. 2017).  In April of 2018 Niah released her second solo effort, Alarm:The Prelude.  2018 was the year of touring, bringing this music for the first time to Athens, Macon, Pensacola Fl., Orlando Fl., Mobile Al., and Montgomery, Al.  And the question Thefamilyorchestra kept hearing after their shows in these new cities was “When are you coming back?”  Their music is far from what people think of as “Southern Hip Hop”.  It has elements of R&B, Jazz, Soul, Funk, all with a Hip Hop foundation.  Allen has coined the term “Ratchedelic” to describe the music.   Thefamilyorchestra has opened for Devin The Dude, Elzhi & Khrysis, Higher Learning, Homeboy Sandman, Overdoz, Black Milk, EarthGang, and Madein TKO to name a few.  And the recurring message in the music is the same question Allen and Niah keep asking of themselves and their support team, “I bet we can do better than this.”

Raised in a motley host of environments from Florida to Zambia, the currently Charlotte-based artist known as ‘Chocolate KNDY’ is a rapper, songwriter, muse and the lead singer of ‘SNAP the Band’. With a diverse pen stemming from a colorful background, her subject matter is always freshly approached, and ranges from provocative to introspective. KNDY’s live performances consistently showcase her playful, eclectic and alluring style – reminding us that there’s always something more to experience.

terrordome is an alternative hip-hop supergroup from asheville, north carolina. formed in august 2022 on the foundation of friendship and artistry, terrordome is a breath of fresh air in the landscape of musical creation. merging styles and influences from all its members, terrordome’s sound is unique and imaginative. combined with their work ethic, ambition, and massive collective energy, terrordome is truly a force to be reckoned with. everything is made in-house, informed and influenced by love and mutual self-expression.
