Pocket Strange‘s music will transport you somewhere between the tie-dyed side of southern rock and psych-rock indie… with a polite splash of spacy jamming that ties together the loose ends that exist outside the constructs of their songs. They’ve decided to be undecided on where they expect the music to land – and in that realm of the unknown, they are able to connect and float in the “Strange” space that leads the band’s exploration and development.
At long last, Pocket Strange is thrilled to celebrate the release of their debut EP, “…like Pocket Change” with a rare and important musical performance to welcome the EP into the world on April 29th, 2023 at Different WRLD. A combination of works old and new, this group of songs help paint a picture of Pocket Strange’s influences and comfort in a lack of confinement within their sound. You are cordially invited to join them in this gathering of Strangers, where they will be creating a space for creative expression, shared artistic exposure, and what they hope to be the beginning of a new era of growth, support, and love surrounding the band and their community.
WAG is a Charlotte-based four-piece, delivering highbrow songwriting and low volume funk to audiences across the southeast. Gathering influence from the likes of Vulfpeck, Steely Dan, Prince, and Stevie Wonder, WAG’s high-energy, self-reflexive songwriting is at once silly and substantive; carefree and careful; heartless and heartfelt. Currently in the studio, Wag is set to release new music in 2022.
