ABOUT HITS

HOLE IN THE SKY (HITS) is a DIY art collective in Washington, D.C., that’s been around for 12 years. founded by musicians in the early days of the D.C. punk scene and housed in a nondescript industrial building, HITS has become a hub for artists, writers, and musicians. over the years, it has evolved as a weird and welcoming art space that has built community through hosting exhibitions and events—an array of installations, performances, and concerts—as well as resident artists…. or some times @ different wrld.

unfortunately hole in the sky’s existence is currently being threatened by new landlords/developers, an experience so many of us have & continue to experience. as Hole in the Sky’s future is uncertain, we took the opportunity to support their mission & artists so a portion of the proceeds from this show will go toward aid to continue HITS legacy.

our spaces share so much common ground of intention & supporting fellow artists so from June 30th to July 2nd, Different Wrld is hosting HITS and associated artists within the DC DIY scene to celebrate these connections. 🖤
